In God We Entrust Luke 5
As Christ followers, our lives should be stamped with the same words as our currency– “In God We Trust.” Regrettably, that is not the case. There are portions of our lives that we surrender to our Savior, and there are areas that we attempt to shield from his knowing gaze.
During our Investigate Jesus Bible study tonight, we’ll review the evidence presented in Luke chapter 5 that identifies the four areas of our lives that Christ commands that we entrust to him. You can test yourself to determine how many of those areas you are holding onto.
Our shared meal will be ready for you at 5:30pm. Our investigation of Luke 5, In God We Entrust, begins at 6pm at Southeast Christian Church Shelby Campus.

Jesus and The Foolish Fisherman Luke 5
Jesus asked Peter to do something that appeared to be foolish and a waste of time. The commercial fisherman had just washed and put away his nets after an unsuccessful night of fishing. Yet Jesus–who was not a commercial fisherman–urged Peter and his crew to go back out and lower their nets once again when even a novice fisherman would know it was too late in the day to catch fish.
During our Investigate Jesus Bible study tonight, we’ll review the evidence as to why Peter obeyed The Preacher from Galilee. If you sense that Christ is urging you to do something that seems foolish and a waste of time, this investigation is for you!
Our shared meal will be ready for you at 5:30pm. Our investigation of Luke 5, Jesus and The Foolish Fisherman, begins at 6pm at Southeast Christian Church Shelby Campus.

Team Building Luke 6
When Jesus was building the team that would take his message of repentance for salvation around the world, he handpicked one disciple who denied him and another disciple who betrayed him. Why did he do that? Didn’t he know these men would let him down at the very moment they were under pressure to stand up for him?
During tonight’s Investigate Jesus Bible study, we’ll review the evidence in Scripture to answer:
Did Jesus know when he invited Peter to join him that the fisherman would deny him three times?
If Jesus is all-knowing, why did he invite a traitor into his inner circle?
Who was on the other team Jesus was building at the same time he was recruiting the Apostles?
Our shared meal will be ready for you at 5:30pm. Our investigation of Luke 6: Team Building begins at 6pm at Southeast Christian Church Shelby Campus.

Plain Truth: Luke 6
You have heard of the Sermon on the Mount. Did you know that Jesus also preached the Sermon on the Plain? In that message to his disciples and followers, Christ used both progressive revelation of Scripture and paradoxical language to teach his disciples, including us, some uncomfortable truths about ourselves. But, he closed out his message with hope for each of us. We’ll do the same as we Investigate Jesus through evidence presented in Luke chapter six.
Our shared meal will be ready for you at 5:30pm. Our discussion, The Plain Truth, begins at 6pm at SECC Shelby Campus.

Spiritual Warfare Part 6 Mayday, Mayday
When aviators or mariners issued a “Mayday” call, it indicated the ship and crew were in imminent danger. In Part 6 of Spiritual Warfare, we’ll investigate two ancient kings who found themselves in life-and-death situations. They both issued their version of a “mayday” call that rendered very different results. Why would that be? We’ll explore the book of 2 Chronicles to find the evidence that leads us to the answer. What we discover will guide you and me to make the right “mayday” call when spiritual warfare has us fearing for our lives.
Our shared meal will be ready for you at 5:30pm. Part 6 of Spiritual Warfare begins at 5:50pm at SECC Shelby Campus.

Billy Joel helped us teach one of our MOVE studies last month. Billy Graham is the contributor tonight. Acts 8 shows us that the salvation experience involves a MOVE by Man and a MOVE by God that results in a MOVE of God and Man working together. The famous evangelists offers us a great example of how to recognize if that MOVE is evident in OUR lives.
So make your MOVE to join us for our shared meal at 5:30pm. Our investigation of Acts 8, begins around 5:50pm at Southeast Christian Church Shelby Campus.

MOVE Luke 24 Love Crucified Arose

Our shared meal will be ready for you at 5:30pm. Our investigation of Luke 24, begins around 5:50pm at Southeast Christian Church Shelby Campus.

MOVE Luke 23 An Innocent Man

Why did he do that? We’ll explore that together tonight.
Our shared meal will be ready for you at 5:30pm. Our investigation of Luke 23, An Innocent Man, begins at 6pm at Southeast Christian Church Shelby Campus.

1 Anothering: Prayer
Our first Investigate Jesus Bible study in 2025 will be in a game show format. I will be asking questions and providing you with both right and wrong answers. You get to figure out which answer is correct. The purpose is to help you identify how well you are 1-Anothering others–especially when it comes to praying for them. Here is the verse that is the hinge of this week’s study:
Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. James 5:16
Our shared meal will be served at 5:30pm. Our game show/study will begin at 6pm at SECC Shelby Campus.

Psalms: Part III
With Thanksgiving approaching, our hearts should turn to praise, and that’s when believers in Christ should turn to the thickest book in the Bible–The Psalms.
These 150 poems–curated over the centuries into a collection of praise songs–are punctuated by praise and thankfulness.
Amos will guide us through the Psalms tonight to remind us that even though Thanksgiving happens once a year, being thankful should happen every day for what Christ did for us on Calvary!
Our shared meal will be ready for you at 5:30pm. Part III of our investigation of Jesus through the Psalms begins at 6pm at Southeast Christian Church Shelby Campus.

Psalms: Part II
There are times when you need to pour your heart out to God. The challenges, disappointments, and heart breaks of life are too much to contain.
That’s why God gave us the Psalms.
Amos will show us tonight that God wants us to be honest about sharing our true feelings with our Creator, Sustainer, and Savior. He’ll also demonstrate, like the psalmist, your pain can turn into praise when you give it all to Christ!
Our shared meal will be ready for you at 5:30pm. Part II of our investigation of Jesus through the Psalms begins at 6pm at Southeast Christian Church Shelby Campus.

Psalms: Part I
Tonight, Amos is going to start leading us through a book of the Bible that took 1,200 years to write. These poems of pain, praise, and even pouting were written between 1,500 BC and 300 BC.
Amos will prove they are just as relevant to readers today as they were 35 centuries ago!
Our shared meal will be ready for you at 5:30pm. Part I of our investigation of Jesus through the Psalms begins at 6pm at Southeast Christian Church Shelby Campus.

Daniel: Part III
Daniel is best known for two accomplishments:
Surviving what seemed to be his End Times when he was thrown into a pit with a pride of hungry lions–and
Describing what End Times will look like for those still alive when Christ returns to judge at his Second Coming.
Amos compares the end times prophecy contained in this 3,000 year old book to what we are seeing happening around the world right now during Part III of his series on the book of Daniel.
Our shared meal will be ready for you at 5:30pm. Part III of our investigation of Jesus through the life of Daniel begins at 6pm at Southeast Christian Church Shelby Campus.

Daniel: Part II
Daniel worked for the most powerful man in the world–King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon. Nebby possessed the unquestioned authority to snuff out Daniel’s life at the slightest offense. Yet, the exiled Jewish scholar–who was enslaved by the king–stood firm in his faith in the face of certain death. Learn how Daniel’s boldness points us toward the Christ in the second part of Amos’ series on the book of Daniel.
Our shared meal will be ready for you at 5:30pm. Part II of our investigation of Jesus through the life of Daniel begins at 6pm at Southeast Christian Church Shelby Campus.

Daniel: Part I
When Nebuchadnezzar was on his way back to Babylon after defeating the Egyptians, he stopped by Jerusalem to pick up a few things on his way home–one of the items was a young Jewish scholar named Daniel. Amos begins a three-part series tonight investigating what we can learn about Jesus through the life of Daniel.
Our shared meal will be ready for you at 5:30pm. Our investigation of Jesus through the life of Daniel begins at 6pm at Southeast Christian Church Shelby Campus.

The Truth about Ruth
Her name is included in the genealogy of Jesus, but who is Ruth? This person who has a book named for her in the Old Testament is critical to what we are investigating about Jesus in the New Testament. During tonight’s investigation of Jesus through the life of Ruth, Amos will explain:
Who was Ruth?
How is she connected to Christ?
Why was a poor widowed woman from a foreign land able to make an impact on both Judaism and Christianity?
Our shared meal will be ready for you at 5:30pm. Our investigation of The Truth about Ruth begins at 6pm at Southeast Christian Church Shelby Campus.

Serving Others is #3 Luke 10
For the last several weeks, our group has been discussing the biblical reasons we should be eager to serve others. So if that is true, why does Jesus tell Martha–who is busily preparing food for Jesus and his friends–that she should not be doing that?
During tonight’s Investigate Jesus Bible study, we’ll review the evidence in Luke chapters 10 and 11 to answer:
Why is it wrong to make serving others my priority?
What are some warning signs that I am not serving others in the proper way?
How can I find the ministry area in which God designed me to serve others?
Our shared meal will be ready for you at 5:30pm. Our investigation of “Serving Others is Number 3” begins at 6pm at Southeast Christian Church Shelby Campus.

God’s Big Plans for You Ephesians 2:10
God’s plan for you was authored before Christ spoke the first molecules of the universe into existence. Have you discovered your God-designed role to serve Christ and others well?
During tonight’s Investigate Jesus Bible study, we’ll review the evidence in Scripture to answer:
Why are we commanded to serve after we are saved?
How can I discover the area of service God designed me to accomplish for his glory?
What is my next step in Christian service to others?
Our shared meal will be ready for you at 5:30pm. Our investigation of “God's Big Plans for You” begins at 6pm at Southeast Christian Church Shelby Campus.

Three Keys to Healthy Living Luke 4
Think back to your middle school health and P.E. class–that’s been a while for some of us! Do you remember what we were taught as the Three Keys to Healthy Living? If so, that will be a helpful reference as we explore the Three Keys to Christian Living. Believe it or not–they are the same!
During tonight’s Investigate Jesus Bible study, we’ll review the evidence in Scripture to answer:
What are the Three Keys to Healthy Christian Living?
Why is it important to both learn and serve at the same time?
How can I discover what God has designed me to do to love Christ and others well?
Our shared meal will be ready for you at 5:30pm. Our investigation of “Three Keys to Healthy Living” begins at 6pm at Southeast Christian Church Shelby Campus.
